The SLIC, or Committee of Senior Labour Inspectors, is an advisory body of the European Commission for issues related to compliance with European Union regulations on safety and health at work. It was formally constituted in 1995.
Who is part of the SLIC?
Representatives of the labour inspection services of the Member States with competence in the field of occupational health and safety inspection. In addition, agencies such as the ILO, ELA or the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work also collaborate in the SLIC.
How does it work?
It works through plenary meetings and in thematic working groups. Las plenary meetings take place every six months in the Member State of the European Union holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

What functions does the SLIC have?
It facilitates the exchange of information between countries.
Proposes guidelines for the inspection of compliance with the PRL regulations
It promotes European Inspection campaigns.
It helps to improve the training and resources of inspectors in Europe.
It examines the national systems of Labour Inspection.

Spain has an active role both in the SLIC Plenary and in the Working Groups.
Currently, the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate (ITSS) is part of four of the nine regular working groups of the SLIC:

In addition, ITSS has been participating in the teams formed by the SLIC to carry out periodic evaluations of the National Labour Inspection Systems, as well as in experiences of exchange of knowledge and good practices between inspectors of the different Member States.
