The owner and manager of a pig farm in Sant Mateu (Castellón) were arrested on February 11 as alleged perpetrators of a crime against workers’ rights: they had at least Seven people working on this farm without a labor contract.
The action was initiated following a complaint filed on 16 January, in which the farm manager was accused of imposing abusive conditions for your employees. The Territorial Judicial Police Team of Vinarò launched an operation aimed at clarifying an alleged crime against the rights of workers.
Subsequently, on February 4, a comprehensive inspection of the farm, in a coordinated operation in which personnel of the Labour Inspection of Castellón, members of the Judicial Police Organic Unit of Castellón, patrols of the Civil Guard of Sant Mateu and agents of Seprona participated.
During the inspection, nine workers and the manager were located on the farm. From the checks carried out, it was found that at least seven workers did not have an employment contract. In a second phase of the operation, the Civil Guard also detained the owner of the pig farm, considering him allegedly responsible for the facts investigated.
