Two people were arrested by the National Police on February 10 in Salamanca, in a new operation against crimes related to the violation of the rights of foreign citizens and its labor exploitation in various manicure centers.
The investigation began when the police were alerted about the alleged criminal activity Around manicure centers managed by foreign citizens, frequented by customers attracted by the low prices of their services. They were carried out inspections in two premises close to the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca and, due to the serious irregularities detectedthe appropriate measures were taken by the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate.
In one of the work centers, a foreign worker was located without authorization to work, so a very serious sanction of 10,001 euros. In another place, none of the workers who were on the day of the Inspection’s visit had an administrative authorization to work in Spain, so the corresponding ones were proposed very serious sanctions to the company for a total amount of 30.056 euros, one for each of the three employees without authorization to work.
In addition, motivated by the seriousness of the facts checked –The victims did not have their passports in their possession, and were forced to live in unhealthy habitats.- The closure of the establishment was also ordered for the last period of six meses.Por, the corresponding penalty was proposed for one of the participants of the entity that manages the business that did not have the current authorization to reside and work in Spain, for which he proposed the expulsion.
