The Labour and Social Security Inspectorate of Murcia participates in an operation together with the National Police that allows the release of 65 immigrant victims of labour exploitation on an agricultural farm

Five people have been arrested by the National Police as allegedly responsible for a labour exploitation network that subjected foreign citizens to abusive conditions on an agricultural farm in the municipality of Murciano de Ulea, in the Ricote Valley.

The investigation that has led to the police arrests began in September 2025 in collaboration with the police. ITSS from Murcia and the Operative EMPACT of Europol.

The investigations led to an agricultural farm where foreign workers in an irregular situation were employed, Subjected to Extreme and Undignified Days. These immigrants were forced to work 24 hours a day, organized in different shifts, and under a regime of continuous exploitation.

During the inspection at the farm in Ulea, police officers found stays classified as “unhealthy” and “undignified”, in which the freed slept overcrowded, washed or ate.

The five detainees are accused of Crimes against the Rights of Foreign Citizens, Promotion of illegal immigration and membership of a criminal organization.

As for the liberated persons, mostly from India and Nepal, Most have been referred to different NGOs and associations working with migrants in an irregular situation.
